Who We Are

Douglas-MarchDouglas March, Artistic Director, is celebrating his 26th year as the conductor of the Brooklyn Philharmonia Chorus. He recently retired as a member of the music faculties for the East Meadow Public Schools in Nassau County, where he conducted choirs in the Woodland and East Meadow High Schools.  His professional activities include membership in the New York State School Music Association, Nassau Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, and American Choral Directors Association, where he served as registration chairman for 3 divisional conventions.  Doug, who was formerly the conductor of the Friends of the Arts Choral Ensemble in Locust Valley, received his Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Southern California and his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus.


Steven Coburn is an active member of the Brooklyn music community as a conductor, pianist, teacher, arranger, composer, and musicologist. In addition to being the accompanist for the Brooklyn Philharmonia Chorus, he is also the artistic director of the Brooklyn Community Chorus. As a teacher, he has taught at the New School University, New York University, Pace University, and currently teaches music at St. Francis College and piano at BrooklynPianoLessons.com. Steven earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in musicology from New York University.
